F.A.Q.s

When are your services?

Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m., and our morning worship service is at 10:45 a.m.  Our Sunday evening service is at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening there is a time of Bible study and prayer that meets at 7:00 p.m., as well as home Bible studies that meet in various homes.

Where are you located?

We are on the corner of 10th Street and Wesley Avenue. There is a parking lot across the street, as well as a parking garage under the building.

What will my children do during the service?

Your children are welcome to worship with you, or to take advantage of the childcare that is provided during all Sunday services. There is Sunday school for all ages, and a well-staffed nursery is available for infants and toddlers. During the morning service, children ages four through the third grade may attend Junior Church, where they'll sing songs, make crafts, and hear an age-appropriate Bible lesson.

Do you have a youth group?

Yes, we have a ministry to students in both middle school & high school. Both of these age groups meet in the youth room during the Sunday School hour and for youth group during the week. Call the church for more information.

Do you have a college & career ministry?

Yes. Our fellowship for 18-29 year olds is called The Crossing, and it meets as a home Bible study during the week. Contact the church for more information.

What should I wear to a Sunday service?

There is no “dress code” for our services. We’re in a resort community, so you’ll see people wearing everything from jeans, shorts, and t-shirts to suits and formal dresses.

What can I expect at a typical Sunday service?

You can expect to be greeted warmly, encouraged by others, and to have your heart and mind turned toward God. We’ll worship by singing, praying, giving, reading from the Scriptures, and by being challenged directly from God’s Word. Our services generally last about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes.

Do you take an offering? Will I have to give anything?

We do take an offering during the service, but the purpose of that is to give our members the opportunity to joyfully give back to the Lord a part of what we have received from Him, as a form of worship. If you are a visitor, feel free to simply let the offering plate pass by, or, better yet, fill out a welcome card and place it in the plate so we can get to know you better.

Do you sing only hymns, or contemporary worship songs, too?

We use both hymns and contemporary praise music in our times of worship. We love songs that elevate our view of God, Christ, and Calvary, and that cause us to worship with a sense of wonder and awe.

What version of the Bible does your church use?

A number of good translations are used. For preaching, the English Standard Version is used for its accurate and readable translation.

I am dealing with problems in my life. Can you help me?

Absolutely, a pastor will be happy to meet with you. Contact us any way you'd like, and we will get you the help you need and pray for your needs.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Yes. We have an elevator at the front of the building to assist those with special needs. If you need specific help, let us know and we’ll be happy to have someone on hand to assist you.

Is the church affiliated with a denomination?

We are an independent church that uses the Bible as our sole guide for our faith and practice. While we don’t belong to any denominations or fellowships formally, we do have many friendships with other churches.
